Field Technician - Pool Construction

Field Technicians are the backbone of our builds. Depending on your level of experience, you'll support or lead the installation process from excavation through finishing, while ensuring jobs are safe, efficient, and on schedule. Higher-level technicians will also mentor junior team members and take ownership of independent tasks or entire scopes of work.

Responsibilities

• Attend daily meetings with the Crew Leader/Field Ops Manager to review goals and schedules
• Assist with or independently perform pool construction tasks (excavation, framing, plumbing, rebar, finishing)
• Ensure tools, materials, and site prep are organized daily to prevent delays
• Double-check all work, address deficiencies quickly, and maintain OSHA safety standards
• Record daily logs, timesheets, and expense forms accurately in Buildertrend
• Communicate professionally with customers, subcontractors, and team members; refer scope/timeline/design questions to the Project Manager
• Maintain RPD tools, trailers, and equipment in safe, organized condition
• Wear professional uniforms and comply with job-site attire requirements (closed-toe shoes, long pants, RPD shirt)
• Participate in mandatory staff meetings, training, and certifications

Qualifications

• Field Tech I: Entry-level/apprentice; eager to learn, dependable, and safety-minded
• Field Tech II: 2+ years of experience with proven competency in construction tasks; able to work with moderate supervision
• Field Tech III: 3+ years experience; strong leadership skills; able to complete projects independently without supervision
• Ability to read and interpret plans (Level II-III)
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (company insurance eligibility required)
• Must provide basic personal hand tools; major tools provided by RPD
• Commitment to professionalism, punctuality, and teamwork
• Pre-employment background and drug screening may be required, consistent with applicable law

Compensation & Benefits

• Full-time, W-2 employee role
• Competitive hourly pay starting at $20.00 to $40.00 per hour, depending on experience
• Performance bonuses are available based on hours produced and client reviews
• Biweekly direct deposit payroll
• Overtime pay after 40 hours/week (pre-approval required)
• Travel allowance: up to $140/month for fuel (pre-approved for business use)
• Paid vacation: 1 week PTO after 6 months, 2 weeks after 1 year (vacation/sick/personal)
• Quarterly performance reviews and potential raises based on performance and experience
• 3-month probationary period upon hire
• Paid training, certifications, and mandatory staff meetings for continued growth
